On September 6, 2025, Dr. Carlos Alario Hoyos from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid presented the initiative “Digital Micro-credentials” at the University of Cuenca (Ecuador), representing the EcoCredGT Project.

The event brought together a group of around 20 faculty members and technical staff who participated in an academic discussion on the value of micro-credentials in transforming higher education. The session opened a dialogue on how these tools strengthen employability, offer more flexible learning pathways, and respond to the demands of education in the digital age.
Through this participation, EcoCredGT reaffirms its commitment to promoting innovative models of professional and higher education, advancing the integration of micro-credentials as a key component for modernizing educational systems in Latin America.
